Dr. Narouze is currently the Chairman of the Center for Pain Medicine at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He is considered an expert consultant in Headaches and Pain Medicine and has served as an editor and medical reviewer in several Headache and Pain Medicine journals. He is also a Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at OUCOM, and a Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at OSU.

He completed his residency in Anesthesiology in 2000 and his Pain Medicine Fellowship in 2001 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He received his PhD in cervicogenic headaches from Maastricht University, the Netherlands in 2012.

As the Program Director of the Cleveland Clinic Pain Medicine Fellowship program, he received the title of "Master Educator."

The Cleveland Clinic also presented him the "Innovator Award" for his advancement in the use of minimally invasive techniques used in treating chronic headaches.

Dr. Narouze is board certified in pain medicine, neurology headache medicine, interventional pain management, as well as anesthesiology.

He recently founded the American Interventional Headache Society (AIHS) and he is on the board of Directors for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) and serves in many committees for the American Academy of Pain Medicine and other national and international headache and pain organizations. He frequently speaks and serves as a visiting Professor both nationally and internationally.

Use of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks for headache and pain were pioneered by Dr. Narouze. He published more than 200 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He is the author for few books; whereas his Atlas on ultrasound guided procedures in interventional pain management was awarded “best seller” Anesthesiology/Neurology book by Springer in 2012. He also authored the first and only book on interventional headache management, “Interventional Management of Headache and Face Pain: Nerve Blocks and Beyond” in 2014.
